Mayhem and a Monster…A boy’s adventure with his cat
“My best memories are of my time spent both as a child and as an adult at the family summer home along French Creek. Days were full of activities that included playing in the woods and fields and swimming, fishing, and canoeing in the pond and creek. Nights were filled with wonderful and scary tales told by my father around a campfire, followed by eerie excursions into the dark night with my cousins and sons.
Along with my story telling father and the great summer adventures, I drew my creative ideas for Mayhem and a Monster from my love of the outdoors, my children’s experiences, and the simple enjoyment of being scared when you know you are truly safe.”

My Horrible Halloween Costume Conundrum
“Halloween has always been a fantastic and wonderful holiday for me filled with ghost tales told by the fire, epic costume parties with scavenger hunts, fun-filled visits to haunted houses, and passing out of candy in a yard full of creepy decorations. But the main inspiration for My Horrible Halloween Costume Conundrum comes from the many years spent with my father preparing homemade trick-or-treating costumes. Costume preparation began weeks in advance, making the anticipation of Halloween so exciting it was almost unbearable. Some of my most memorable trick-or-treating costumes included a pirate, a wolfman, an alien, and a mummy, all crafted to be amazingly frightful to the person wearing it and making my holiday grand.”

“Jason’s humor and wit make this story special and fascinating. When reading, I immediately see a picture of what Jason is talking about. This is how good children’s books work.”
